Introductions aren´t necessary because he is without a doubt one of the most important national references: a singular producer, a precursor, a pioneer, an excellent producer. He is one of the most important and influent producers in Portugal, a man with his own ideas and strong convictions. His wines are a balsam for the senses. He has been making wines for a long time and has never got too comfortable. He has a free and open spirit and the courage to revolutionize wines, change practices, follow new paths and understand the danger of comfort without ever compromising the quality and character of his wines.
He is responsible for vinification in the Quinta do Pôpa since 2006 where he selects the castes and plots for the wines to be produced. He controls the quality of the wines by giving technical and oenological assistance to Quinta do Pôpa.
