Engineer Jorge Silva
He is an Agro-Livestock engineer and has a Degree in Technical Engineering of Agricultural Production from the Agricultural Superior School of Bragança. He is now attending the Wine Biotechnology and Innovation Course - Advanced Training in the School of Advanced Studies of the Beiras.
He is the Agricultural Technician Engineer responsible for the wine production in Quinta do Pôpa since February of 2003. He controls the vineyard operations throughout the year, organizes the grape picking process, from the picking of the grapes to their entry into the cellar. In coordination with the oenologist he performs and accompanies the vinification process.
He’s passionate about the Douro region which is his homeland. He always worked in vineyards and the vineyards were always part of his life. That is probably why he is an excellent connoisseur and wine critic. It is also probably why he does everything with love and passion. It is probably why he is with us since the beginning of the project, since February of 2003.
